Friday Frothies – Kaiju Where Strides The Behemoth Review

Brendan Leenders’ Staff Pick
Kaiju Where Strides The Behemoth Double Imperial Black IPA
ABV: 10%

I grabbed this can this week to road test as I heard this is possibly one of Australia’s hoppiest beers. With over 30gm of hops per litre, it doesn’t disappoint.

Pouring a rich black colour, the nose experienced a huge roast coffee hit, big waft of chocolate and the malt is intense, with a smattering of light citrus to break that big saturation.

As soon as this beer touches your lips, you are transported into another dimension. The dank hop character is orgasmic! An intense beer at 10% (albeit a reduction from the original 10.8%) that gives an oily body with a piney and spicy finish. Just be careful ! Make sure you pace yourself, because one is never enough, and before you know it, you will have consumed 6 standard drinks in two beers.

It is definitely an experience not to be missed. Savour it, it will become a cult beer for you.
