Little Korben is a very new brew, only having been brewed once before exclusively for Beer Cartel’s advent calendar – so this will be Little Korben’s very first national release. Using the same hops and malts as the original Korben D, it has all the same fruity and piney aromas, just dialled down to a slightly more responsible 6% ABV so it doesn’t sneak up on you quite as much. Having Little Korben and Korben D side by side makes for a really fun comparison and a great way to experience how playing with the ABV can affect the body, sweetness, and bitterness of a beer.
Akasha Brewing Company was founded by Dave Padden and Wesley White in early 2015. Known for his attention to detail, consistency and innovation, their head brewer, Dave has forged a reputation for brewing award-winning, hop-centric ales. And whilst Wes has been a fan of Dave’s beer for years, he brings bag loads of enthusiasm and management experience to the table. The third member of the team, Ben Galanos, has worked in various sales and hospitality roles for nearly 20 years and is an unapologetic craft beer fan.
Basically, for everyone at Akasha, beer is their way of life.
DID YOU KNOW?
The word ‘Akasha’ refers to the ‘fifth’ element. The ‘unknown factor’ that combines the four elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. And Akasha bring this concept to the craft of brewing beer. Whilst most beer is made from the four basic ingredients of malt, hops, water, and yeast, it is this ‘fifth’ element, the Akasha, that instils the spirit, the soul and the magic, to create a beer that is truly special.
