TASTING NOTES
The Dominique Portet Fontaine Rose is a classic French style Rose from the Yarra Valley. What initially seems to wash away comes back with a punch, with sharp persistent length, grippy texture and soft floral nuances. It is tickled pink with fresh summer berry flavours, bright acid and savoury notes. This wine has a fantastic structure and texture not often found in Rose.
WINERY SNAPSHOT
Ninth-generation winemaker Dominique Portet chose the cool climate of aptly named Coldstream in the Yarra Valley as home to the eponymous winery he founded in 2000. It was not only the culmination of a tenacious search for grapegrowing terroir to rival that of his native Bordeaux but also the start of a new chapter in a winemaking story that has its roots in France in the early 1700s.
