Fathom was created so that Green Beacon could explore the complexities of mixed fermentation and barrel-aged beer. They’re on a quest to uncover the hidden treasures and delights of oak maturation.
Aged in French oak, ex-Penfolds shiraz barrels for twenty four months. Inoculated with Lactobacillus, Pediococcus, Brettanomyces and sherry flor. Blended with young, sour red ale for balance.
Green Beacon set up in Teneriffe, specifically because it is the pulsating and vibrant heart of Brisbane’s modern urban renewal with its festivals, shops, eateries, cafes, restaurants, galleries etc. A mix of locals living in a community that offers great diversity and reflects their ethos of quality, hand crafted local product aimed at the discerning drinker. Green Beacon are attempting to bring a new culture to beer, so prevalent abroad but only just gaining ground in Australia.
