Oud Beersel Faro is a traditional Lambic beer. It is produced by the adding candi sugar to a select blend of their Oude Lambiek. In the case of their Oude Faro, the candi sugar is added months prior to packaging, allowing the yeast of their Lambic to slowly ferment the candi sugar until the Faro is no longer sweet. The finished product features a brown colour, a touch of caramelized character and a thirst-quenching acidic finish.
The Brewery Oud Beersel, which started in 1882 is located in Beersel, only 10km from the Brussels city centre in the southwest of the capital. It is one of the last remaining authentic lambic breweries of Belgium and well known for its lambic beer brewed along traditional brewing methods.
