Pirate Life Masala Spiced Porter

TASTING NOTES

This limited edition Porter showcases the unique aromatic stylings of Garam Masala. It’s bold, complex and certain to satisfy! Chocolate and crystal malts give this recipe some serious grunt, pairing with a multitude of spice additions, including cardamom, cinnamon and clove. CTZ and Perle hops are along for the ride too, lending mild bitterness and a hint of pine. Once poured, wafts of coffee and spice drift from the glass. The palate yields espresso, liquorice and banana bread; evolving as it warms in the hand. It’s dry on the finish with more coffee, black molasses and a hint of cumin. Masala Spiced Porter. BREWERY SNAPSHOT

Adelaide deserves to be famous for more than churches and an iced coffee fetish. Sunshine, great food, better wine and famous festivals; it was the obvious choice for Pirate Life. Adelaide might have funny tasting water, but that doesn’t stop them from making a darn good brew.

DID YOU KNOW?

Pirate Life Brewhouse was ordered from Stainless Systems in Escondido, California in mid 2014. Coincidentally, one of their brewers, Jack, lived just nearby for 4 years back in his USA brewing days. Their other brewer Red saw their tanks at Eagle Bay brewing in WA and was pretty impressed. The brewhouse arrived just 3 days after they arrived in Adelaide so they really hit the ground running, converting a large shed into a fully functioning brewhouse in less than 3 months.
