TASTING NOTES

A kettle Soured Berliner with Guanabana (A fruit from Columbia) has been described by some as the most purely refreshing beer in the world. A regional specialty of Berlin; referred to by Napoleon’s troops in 1809 as “the Champagne of the North” due to its lively and elegant character. By culturing Lactobacillus into the beer they create a restrained, lemony, tart apple fruitiness. They then added Guanabana (A tropical fruit from South America) to give the beer a subtle, unique passion-fruit, coconut flavour.

BREWERY SNAPSHOT

Social Bandit’s Austrian built equipment was purchased from a little place in Japan in November 2014, arriving in Mansfield in February 2015. Thousands of components came labeled in Japanese or German! (they couldnt read Japanese or abbreviated German) so Jeff (the brewer/owner) put this all together like a 10,000 piece jigsaw with no picture (crikey). Social Bandit opened in November 2015 with 4 beers on tap. They now have 12 taps filled.
